Tridon Communications is growing! We are seeking a Tower Construction Foreman to join our Tridon Team.
Job description
The Tower Construction Foreman is responsible for building, stacking, and maintaining communication towers, the safe installation of steel structures and wireless communication components, performing general ground procedures associated with installation, concrete foundations, plum & tension, crane direction, working with various antenna and transmission lines, identifying and selecting appropriate equipment for specific installations, and climbing and working on poles, towers, and ladders or other support structures up to 500 feet.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Building, stacking, and maintaining communication towers
- Safe installation of steel structures and wireless communication components
- Performing general procedures associated with installation
- Working with various antenna and transmission lines
- Laying foundational concrete
- Climbing and working on poles, towers, and ladders or other support structures up to 500 feet
Experience and Training:
- Minimum 5+ years in lead hand or foreman role
- Someone who has a proven track record of working at heights
- Experience working with Gin poles
- Experience with Steel work
- Experience in Crane direction and Zoom Booms
- Experience working with hand and power tools and various electronic test equipment
- Someone who has experience working in a highly safety sensitive environment
Must Haves:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License with a clean driving record within the last 5 years (non-GDL)
- Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing on a regular and frequent basis for access to site
- Highschool Diploma
- Ability to travel throughout Alberta and Canada for extended periods of time
- Physically fit
Nice to Haves:
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Aerial Work Platform (OSSA accredited)
- Tower Climbing and Rescue certificate
- Confined Space Entry Training certificate (OSSA accredited)
Physical Demands:
- Able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs while climbing
- Ability to safely climb to heights up to 500 feet
- Ability to work at heights for extended periods of time in all types of weather
- Ability to safely and properly operate motor vehicles up to ¾ ton pickup
- Able to work regular shifts of up to 12 hours (or more in special circumstances)
