JOB SUMMARY – Service Manager

  • Responsible to manage the effective operations of the Service Department in their assigned areas,
  • Lead, delegate, support, and oversee all work-related activities of the Technical Service


Required Work Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience as a supervisor and/or manager in telecommunications installation and service
  • Diploma or Certificate in 2 – 3 year Engineering Technology or Communications Technology program or equivalent is required
  • 10 years of experience as a Telecommunications Technician
  • Remote Management experience a definite asset

  • Possess a clear communication style with clear and consistent directives to employees, to ensure high levels of commitment and involvement
  • Ability to define, introduce and measure, appropriate service department goals, objectives, and expectations for all technicians
  • Ability to ensure service department complies with all industry and legislation/regulatory requirements
  • Ability to grasp new techniques, and deal with rapidly changing events
  • Ability to work safely in hazardous environments
  • Knowledge and skill of tools, equipment, and materials and practices of the trade
  • Knowledge of applicable telecommunication codes, standards, and regulations
  • Customer service focus with excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to build critical relationships with customers and vendors, and internal contacts, including sector and marketing personnel
  • Be able to actively assist and support the company’s overall strategic sales efforts
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent (recent Driver’s Abstract will be required upon the condition of employment)
  • Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test and maintain the ability to pass subsequent pre-access testing
  • Fluent in English written and verbal communications


Physical Demands:

  • Will be required to work in the field on the client site and in a site office
    Will be required to stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time
  • Will be required to work at heights including ladders, and man lifts
  • May be required to carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs for short distances
