JOB SUMMARY – Senior Tower Foreman

  • As the most senior technician on the job site you will be responsible to manage the safe, effective, and efficient operations of the tower crew(s) ensuring that all work is completed in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
  • Lead, delegate, support, and oversee all work related activities of the tower crew(s).

JOB DUTIES

  • Organize tower construction crews with a focus on safety, quality and professionalism
  • Communicate effectively with construction crews, project managers and customer representatives in a professional manner
  • Manage sub-contractor crews and equipment in support of tower construction
  • Manage tower construction crews on site and provide the expertise necessary to safely execute all methods of procedure in the construction of wireless telecommunication tower sites and infrastructure
  • Adhere to and enforce the Corporate Health & Safety program and ensure all Technical Services Staff adhere to its rules, policies, processes, practices, and procedures
  • Assist with all aspects of job site planning, execution, and closeout activities as they pertain to field activities
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, guidance and training to tower crews in construction procedures and methodologies
  • Provide leadership in the safe setup and use of all tower related construction equipment
  • Must be able to interpret and assess tower construction civil design drawings and tower base installation methods and procedures, as well as, tower site compound designs
  • Must understand and be able to execute methods of procedure associated with the installation of cellular and microwave radio antennas and cables, antenna mounts, tower lighting, tower grounding, fall protection systems, and lightning protection systems
  • Facilitate weekly toolbox talks, regular team meetings, and pre/post job scrubs
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service vehicles and shop areas
  • Ensure equipment inspections, maintenance, and service is completed (Fleet Vehicles and Company Tools)
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and solicit feedback from customers on completion of work to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained at a high level
  • Ensure service related invoicing and staff time sheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Make use of Team Leads in resource allocation, job planning and assignment of tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 + years of experience in construction of telecommunications tower infrastructure
  • Training certifications in the use of cranes, man-lifts, gin-pole, and double drum winches
  • 3 – 5 years of experience as a Lead Foreman and/or proven leader of crews

Required

  • Must be fit and be able to climb tower infrastructure and be trained in Fall Protection and Tower Rescue
  • Valid Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent
  • Clean 5 year Driver’s Abstract will be required as a condition of employment
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing will be required for access to client sites and is required as a pre- requisite condition of employment.

Skills

  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computer databases
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Effective listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, and in a team
  • Ability to problem solve and makes decisions considering important factors
  • Ability to be organized, multitask, and be detail orientated
  • Proven ability to develop, lead and manage technical teams to achieve results

Physical Demands

  • Required to carry equipment weighing up to 50lbs for short distances
  • This role will be required to climb towers up to 500 FT with equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. from time to time.
