Tridon Communications is currently seeking a Network Field Technician to add to our growing Team in Terrace, BC. This position is local, Relocation assistance provided.

About the Job:

A Network Field Technician is responsible for network development and maintenance in the field at the client’s site. The individual works with the organization’s technical team and its clients to install, configure, maintain, and fix all LAN/WANand other equipment issues, ensuring efficient network functionality.

Must Haves:

• Diploma in Computer Sciences or relevant Electronics or Communications field along with a Certificate in Networking
• CCNA Certification is required
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent

Ideal Skills:

• Strong familiarity with HP and HPE Aruba Networks
• Proficient in SolarWinds system
• 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling
• 3+ years’ experience in Networking
• Excellent understanding of networking requirements and wiring standards applicable to the telecommunications industry
• Ability to grasp new techniques, and deal with rapidly changing events
• Ability to work safely in hazardous environments with knowledge and understanding of occupational hazards and safe work requirements (OH&S)
• Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools, test equipment and design/fabrication techniques
• Knowledge of applicable telecommunication codes, standards, and regulations.
• Electrical Wiring codes and best practices
• Experience with cable management and terminations
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong time management skills
• Problem solving and decision making
• Ability to read/understand engineering drawings/documents
• Ability to grasp new techniques, and deal with rapidly changing events
